You know you want it, where do you get it? You want two more doors on your Vette? Buy a Cadillac CTS-V Sport. I don’t blame you for feeling like you have to buy a sportscar to get the feel of a sportscar, but you are wrong. You have to drive the Cadillac CTS-V Sport to feel what I am talking about. The look is distinctly Cadillac, but the drive is as jet-inspired as the Chevy Corvette Stingray.
There’s a giddiness afoot, a wariness to say this, but if this is the technology General Motors is bringing out in all its Cadillac models, then other manufacturers need to stand up and take notice. It is the technology in the Corvette Stingray that everyone is raving about. It is in all versions of the 2014 Cadillac CTS.
The technology is called Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) and it is paired with Brembo brakes and Pirelli tires. I could get all techie with you when I explain MRC, but basically there are magnets in the suspension and it measures the road and adjusts to what is needed accordingly. It makes you feel like you are in control of the car, no matter what road you are on. It is the technology that makes one think they are such a great driver, until they get back in their own car and realize it was the car all along.
Combine that technology with hand-sewn leather, lights that wink in the night and a remote start that remembers what temperature you like your car when it’s cold outside.
All that aside, it’s the ride baby, it’s the ride.
