The Model S uses the 60 kWh battery, has a driving range of 208 miles of pure EV, goes 0-60 in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 120 mph. The peak motor power for the 2014 Tesla S is 302 hp (225 kW) at 5,000-8,000 rpm with a torque of 317 lb-ft from 0-5,000 rpm. You get an 8-year warranty for the battery or 120,000 miles. Supercharging is optional.
The 2014 Model S performance uses the 85 kWh battery, has a driving range of 265 miles of pure EV, goes 0-60 in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 125 mph. The peak motor power for the 2014 Tesla S Performance is 362 hp (270 kW) at 6,000-9,500 rpm with a torque of 325 lb-ft from 0-5,800 rpm. You get an 8-year warranty for the battery with unlimited mileage. Supercharging is standard.
The 2014 Model S performance plus uses the 85 kWh battery, has a driving range of 265 miles of pure EV, goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. The peak motor power for the 2014 Tesla S Performance is 416 hp (310 kW) at 5,000-8,600 rpm with a torque of 443 lb-ft 0-5,100 rpm. You get an 8-year warranty for the battery with unlimited mileage. Supercharging is standard.
Calderon introduces us to the Tesla S starting with the key fob. The key fob opens the trunk, the front, and the doors all with a click on the fob. The doors are flush with the body of the car for maximum aerodynamics. The drive will follow shortly.
