2021 Lexus NX 300 – I drove the F Sport trim of the NX300 this week. There are times in life that the perfect drive and the perfect car come together to make a perfect day, and this was one of them.

The 2021 Lexus NX 300 is a five-passenger luxury compact SUV available in two trim levels: the standard NX 300 and the NX 300 F Sport. Inside these two vehicles are an all-wheel-drive option as well as a luxury and Black Line option.

The 2021 Lexus NX 300 F-Sport is more than just an upgraded Toyota RAV4; it takes on the competition outside of the Toyota family, upping the luxury SUV segment at a reasonable price with good fuel efficiency.

The competitors include BMW X3,  Mercedes-Benz GLC, Porsche Macan, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Infiniti QX50, Lincoln MKC, and the Jaguar I-Pace. With the luxury compact SUV so tight, every new option counts, and Lexus has packed the compact with lots of goodies.

NX 300 F-Sport Turbo Performance

The NX 300 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 235 hp at 4800-5,600 rpm with 258 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,650-4,000 rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence-Wide (VVT-iW) is responsible for optimizing torque throughout the engine. The D4-S injection system uses a combination of direct fuel injection and port fuel injectors to ensure ample power and crisp responsiveness at all engine speeds and G-force levels.

The sequential six-speed automatic transmission uses Torque-Demand control logic to calculate the required engine torque to deliver a quick response and exhilarating acceleration.
