50 years of Nissan performance at New York auto show

The Nissan Dream Garage will be at the 2019 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) highlighting some of the most classic cars ever made by Nissan and Datsun.

If you’re older and a football fan you will remember back to the 1996 Super Bowl when Nissan North America launched its 2-minute “Life is a journey ~ Enjoy the Ride” advertising campaign with a two-minute television commercial at the 1996 Super Bowl. Back then it was Mr. K’s garage, for the father of the Z-car, Yutaka Katayama. The Dream Garage featured everything American, a little boy playing baseball, a small dog with a ball in his mouth running, stumbling down an Alice in Wonderland black hole into a dream garage full of Nissan cars over thirty years old, including a 240Z G-nose and a silver 1967 Datsun Roadster 2000.

Nissan is bringing some of their sweetest heritage vehicles to New York and will display them at the New York Auto Show. There will be such iconic cars as

1970 240Z
1972 Skyline 2000GT-R
1990 Skyline GT-R Gr. A JTC Calsonic
1995 NISMO GT-R LM Road Car

As a teaser, here is an old video of the Datsun 240Z at the 19th East African Safari rally, dodging zebras and giraffes.
