About Sue Mead

Sue Mead is an automotive journalist and author, as well as an off-road adventurer and racer. Sue began her automotive career as a part-time freelance evaluator for Four Wheeler Magazine in 1988, on the first team that included women as test drivers. Mead still writes about off-roading and new cars, but she has a new love as well. Sue got tired of stop signs and decided to get in the cockpit; she is taking lessons to become a pilot. Join Sue on her adventure as she learns the ins-and-outs of flying. Sue has also authored three books: Monster Trucks and Tractors; Off Road Racing, Legends and Adventures; and Rock Crawling, published by Chelsea House and is currently in the process of finishing her fourth book Driving for My Life: Inner and Outer Journeys. She has been a member of the International Motor Press Association, New England Motor Press Association, the Active Lifestyle Car Jury, the North American Car and Truck of the Year Jury and the Texas Auto Writers Association. She has received two awards from the International Automotive Press Association and the Texas Auto Writers Association and has served on the Board of Directors for Tread Lightly! Inc.
