Good Morning Scudifites,
Interest is the time value of money.
If there is a zero interest rate policy (ZIRP) in play right now then putting your money in a savings account is not giving it the respect over the long-term. It will be safe, but it will not show the time value of money.
There are many businesses that are doing well in the marketplace that have a long-term outlook and are meeting their fiduciary duties to their stockholders.
There is legislation that is happening that can affect those businesses. There is also the volatility of the marketplace and the politics of different countries that those businesses have to take into account when making decisions.
The more we talk about these issues, the better decision you can make with your money on where to invest it.
I am not your broker, your personal advisor, your mother, or your wife/partner. You’re a grown-up, make your decisions and your stock trades. My opinions are my own, but I am sharing them with you. However, if you make money on my opinions, I am more than happy to take royalties :)
With zero-emission and driverless cars at the forefront of the automobile technology race, who do you see as emerging as the market leader as the technology becomes more mainstream?

Of course we have to look at $TSLA. Part of the reason their stock is so high is that people are betting on them and they want them to win. I drove one of the first tesla roadsters in Pebble Beach with co-founder martin Eberhard (ouch Elon). It was the perfect place to show it off – the Concours d’Elegance is known for historic vehicles and lots of one-percenters flaunting their cash. And the investors were there and they told me that they had put $150,000 down without ever seeing the car because that is the future they envisioned.
The next is BMW. BMW has a subsidiary group – the i group that is electric and plug-in electric. They have brought out the i3 and the i8. The i3 beat all other electric and plug-in hybrids in sales in the month of Sept ’15. I8s (beautiful PHEV!) started selling in January. BMW also owns a carbon fiber division so those cars can be built lighter.
