BMW i3 a new frame in electromobility

Driving the Nation shows the BMW i3 carbon fiber aluminum body frame at the BMW headquarters in New Jersey.

BMW says The born electric BMW i3 represents a new era of electromobility. Why? because the BMW i3 frame is made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). It is the first mass-produced CFRP passenger frame in the automotive business. Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic is 50% lighter than steel and 30% lighter than aluminum.
