Bob Carter on the Toyota Prius brakes

2010 Chicago Auto Show, Chicago, IL – Robert S. Carter Group Vice President and General Manager – Toyota Division Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc sat down with me at the Chicago auto show for a 35 minute exclusive interview.

In this segment Carter addresses the Toyota Prius brake problem.

This is the third generation Prius with a newly redesigned system.

The Prius has three types of brakes: regenerative, hydraulic and anti-lock braking system (ABS). They are controlled by an electronically controlled unit that uses logic to optimize the balance.
