Bob Carter, what are Toyota’s problems?

2010 Chicago Auto Show, Chicago, IL – Robert S. Carter Group Vice President and General Manager – Toyota Division Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc sat down with me at the Chicago auto show for a 35 minute exclusive interview.

In this segment Bob talks about what the problems are that Toyota is having in regards to the recalls. Carter addresses the sticky pedal, and the floor mat problem. Carter talks about the how many instances there have been out of the amount of 2.3 million recalled.

I asked Carter whether Toyota would install brake override in all there cars going forward. Carter told me that not only will they be installing brake override, but they will install the cut off fuel to fuel injectors. This will start with the Sienna and Avalon and spread to the entire line-up by the end of 2010. It will also include the recalled cars.
