Chevy Equinox fuel cell Project Driveway

2007 Los Angeles Auto Show

Real-world drivers, Ben and Jackie Lee, in front of a Chevy Equinox fuel cell, blogged their way to be part of “Project Driveway,” a three-month trial period from General Motors.

The Lees didn’t meet any of the expectations I thought GM was looking for, kids, big fuel bills, lots of commuting. What they did meet was a commitment to the environment.

Applicants have to be physically located in one of three communities: Los Angeles, Washington, DC, or the New York Metropolitan area. Participants will have the opportunity to drive the vehicle for 3-30 month intervals over the market test period.
