Geneva International Motor Show (GimsSwiss) (GIMS)

Wayne Brannon is the President & Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe.  Brannon invited a group of journalists to sit down and talk with him about Chevrolet in Europe while we were at the 2010 Paris Auto show.

Chevy of Europe has doubled its business from 2005 to 2008, obtaining a marketshare of about 2.5%.

How does it see 2010 panning out?

They’ve launched the Spark in Europe this year and Brannon says it has been a “home run”. Of course, the mini car segment has pulled back, which the Spark is part of.

Next year they launch Corvette Grand Sport, Camaro and they will launch the Volt in about six months, probably around the 100th Anniversary of Chevrolet, which is November 3rd.

How many markets is Chevy Europe competing in?

Will the Aveo come out in a diesel? Yes, a 1.3 diesel with a start-stop.

Will Chevy Europe be profitable?

How is the exchange rate affecting Chevy Europe?

Are they hedging to help their profitability?

Brannon talks about the free trade agreement between Korea and the EU.
