Co-founder Tesla working for Volkswagen ERL

Volkswagen to Tesla – You can take a person’s job away from them, but you can’t take away their intelligence.

Tesla Motors was incorporated in Delaware on July 1, 2003, by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Back in 2006, I interviewed Martin Eberhard on the John Batchelor radio show. Eberhard was CEO and co-founder of Tesla motors. Eberhard was unceremoniously replaced by Elon Musk.

You can take a person’s job away from them, but you can’t take away their intelligence.

Volkswagen is the lucky recipient of Eberhard’s intelligence. For the past eighteen months, Eberhard has been working with Volkswagen AG in its Electronics Research Laboratory (ERL) in Silicon Valley, CA.

The Audi E-Tron won concept car of the year, along with the BMW Vision. It gains even more credence with Eberhard working on it.

Here is Eberhard talking about ERL, batteries, and the Audi e-Tron.
