Continental’s Black Chili Honda Civic Type R

Honda has already given approval for its all-new Honda Civic Type R that has achieved a new lap record on the famous “Nurburgring Nordschleife”. The tire is known as the Black Chili.

Nikolai Setzer, Continental AG executive board member for tires, talked to journalists at the Frankfurt auto show about the SportContact 6 that was designed to deliver maximum control, maximum grip and maximum stability for high speed up to 350 km/h.

The new technologies provide massive improvements regarding dry handling, steering precision, and race track grip. Continental says this leads to an outstanding overall performance on the edge under dry conditions on public roads and race tracks, as well as good wet performance on the edge within this product segment.
