Dr. Leopold Mikulic, Mercedes-Benz, 2009 LA autoshow

Dr. Leopold Mikulic, Vice President, Powertrain, Mercedes-Benz Development talked to Lou Ann Hammond, CEO, www.carlist.com, at the 2009 Los Angeles autoshow.

Mercedes-Benz has started bringing out hybrids. Mikulic talks about the alternative engineering and the optimization of the vehicle for sustainable mobility. Mikulic also talked about the F-cell, the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle that is zero emission vehicle (ZEV).

Mikulic talks about the ML450h that I drive later. The ML450h is the two-mode hybrid with CVT that was designed by General Motors, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle is based on a V-6 gasoline engine and has two electric motors.

Mikulic talks about the kilowatts and the difference in fuel efficiency.
