Freeman Thomas, director, North American Strategic Design, Ford talks about the Ford Airstream at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The airstream was made in collaboration with Airstream and Ford’s advanced propulsion division.
Thomas says the Airstream is a plug-in electric hybrid that emulates a prototype that is already on the road . The Airstream would be a hybrid that gets 300 miles on one charge and a tank of gasoline, is zero emissions, using hydrogen and a Lithium-Ion battery.
Is this design possible now? Where is the drivetrain located and what is mono-volume? Bring your oxygen tank and join Thomas as he takes you on a visit through NASA, 2001 Space Odyssey and Disneyland.
It’s an American journey.
