Henry Li, BYD, at the 2009 Detroit auto show

North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Detroit, MI – Henry Li, General Manager for Auto Exports for BYD sat down with me at the 2009 Detroit auto show.

Who owns BYD? We know that Warren Buffett’s MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. has invested  about $235 million to get roughly 10% of BYD, but does China own part of BYD as well? What about car companies in Europe or America?

What is BYD known for?

When will they bring their automobiles to the United States?

How will they distribute/sell their cars?
