Honda and the hydrogen highway

2008 Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS)

Stephen Ellis, Manager of Fuel Cell Marketing for American Honda Motor Company sat down for a chat with me at the 2008 Los Angeles auto show.

Ellis had missed part of the auto show to attend the California Air Resources Board (CARB) meeting.

CARB is offering solicitations for funding for hydrogen for mobile or temporary fuelers. What? Ellis explained.

Is California on track for the Governor’s hydrogen highway?

Would it be better to have a cluster of hydrogen fueling stations or concentrate on getting fueling stations all over the state?

How far along is Honda with its research and development on a daily basis of usage?

Does California have the money for a hydrogen highway?

Were there any solutions at the ARB meeting?
