Jim Micali, Michelin “green” tires

Green tires

Jim Micali, Chairman & President, Michelin North America talks about “green” tires at Nasdaq, Times Square, New York City, New York.

We’re in Times Square where the NASDAQ and Reuters electronic billboards are displaying reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions that Michelin has attributed to the company’s “green energy-saving” tires for passenger cars and commercial trucks since the launch of the first generation of the green tires in 1992.

Four billboards are running in tandem; New York City, Shanghai, Berlin, and Paris. The amount of CO2 and fuel saved worldwide is so staggering that they are listed by second.

The worldwide savings, every second, amounts to 11.6 gallons of fuel and 240 pounds of CO2 every second!
