Mr. Jose Carlos da Silveira Pinheiro Neto is the Vice President of General Motors of Brazil. He began his career with General Motors – Brazil in 1970 as an attorney in the company’s legal department.

In 1973, he was appointed Manager of the Legal Department of General Motors Financing, now GMAC. Subsequently, he went on to become the Manager of the company’s Sao Paulo affiliate in 1977.

In 1979, Mr. Pinheiro Neto was transferred to General Motors Acceptance Corporation in New York. Two years later, he returned to Brazil to become Comptroller of General Motors Financing and, in 1984, was promoted to Financial Director. In November of 1987, Mr. Pinheiro Neto was named the company’s Director of Governmental Relations and Institutional Affairs.

In 1989, he became Director of Corporate Affairs, responsible for all activities related to government and corporate relations as well as public and press relations.

Since 1989, Mr. Pinheiro Neto has represented General Motors – Brazil on the Board of Directors of Anfavea and Sinfavea. He served as President of Anfavea and Sinfavea from 1998 to 2001.

Mr. Pinheiro Neto assumed the position of Director of Corporate Affairs and Exports in October of 1997. Then, in July of 1999, he assumed his current position as Vice President of General Motors of Brazil.

Mr. Pinheiro Neto holds a Law Degree from Mackenzie University.
