Lee Slezak, DOE, at the 2010 Plug-in conference

We sat down with Lee Slezak, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Manager-Advanced Vehicle Systems Simulation & Evaluation Office of Freedom Car and Vehicle Technologies at the 2010 Plug-in conference in San Jose, CA.

Slezak talked about the codes and standards and car companies working with energy companies. How does the Department of Energy (DOE) get involved in these negotiations?

How close are we to getting standardizations for these electric vehicles?

Slezak and his group run tests on all vehicles and put the results on their website, avt.inl.gov, so that the public can compare the information, apples to apples.
