Live from the 2010 LA auto show with Kudlow and Batchelor

CNBC’s Larry Kudlow and John Batchelor, host of the John Batchelor radio show, talked to me about the pre Los Angeles auto show parties and the General Motors IPO.
Kudlow asked about the Volt, and of course the tax credit.
The first event I went to was a Ford Ecoboost with thirteen cars in fuel leading segments, then off to a Rolls-Royce party on Rodeo Dr at the designer Bijan’s showroom.
Kudlow and Batchelor caught up to me just as I arrived at the Cadillac design center.

Barb Samardzich is Ford’s vice president of global product programs. She is also one of the women that make up fifteen percent of women in production and manufacturing for Ford.
When Samardzich graduated from college in engineering five percent of the class were women. Today, the average is seventeen percent.
Samardzich says Ford is inline with their projections to sell 1.5 million a year worldwide by 2013. That will happen courtesy of Ford’s four-cylinder 1.6- and 2.0-liter engines ecoboost engines that are already on sale in Europe.
