Mark Fields 2013 Lincoln MKZ and MKZ hybrid

Lincoln hybrids

Mark Fields, Ford’s President of the Americas, told Lou Ann Hammond, CEO, www.drivingthenation.com, that Lincoln would stick with hybrids for now, not venture into electric cars as Ford has done. The 2013 MKZ Hybrid has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that creates 41 city/36 highway miles per gallon. Fields said the price for the hybrid would be the same as the regular engine.

Drivingthenation then talked to Barbara Whalen, Ford’s Color and Material Manager. Color can be the deciding factor in the purchase of a car. Whalen talked about the interior and exterior colors and their significance.

Darrell Behmer, Ford’s chief exterior designer stopped by to tell us about the transformational design on the exterior and interior, including the sunroof, the pedestal mirrors, and the flying wings in the front.
