Michael Sprague, on Kia’s success & alternative energy

Michael Sprague, Vice President of marketing for Kia USA, sat in a Kia Forte on a ferry ride in Seattle and talked to me about the success of Kia during these economic times.

Kia, nor Subaru, have electric cars, hybrids, or diesel. Yet they are both doing better than the rest of the auto companies. Why?

Does Sprague see alternative energies coming to the United States? Which alternative energy are they spending the most time and money on?
