Michelin Green X at the 2009 Detroit auto show

Clermont-Ferrand, France & North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Detroit, MI –

Florent Ménégaux is the head of Michelin Groups passenger car and light truck tire product line. Florent Ménégaux talked to me about the Latitude tires in France and introduced the latest Michelin innovation, the Michelin Energy Saver Green X All-Season tire at the 2009 Detroit auto show.

Michelin’s booth was designed as a gas station with Michelin Green X tires surrounding the event. Michelin says “that regardless of the vehicle they own or the way they drive, there is a Michelin tire that will maximize their vehicles fuel economy, lower CO2 emissions and continue to provide leading performances. For carmakers, it means that Michelin green tires will enable them to achieve a portion of their fuel economy and greenhouse-gas reduction requirements.”

Bibi, the Michelin mascot came out at the end. It was eleven years ago that Michelin created Challenge Bibendum, the alternative energy, and technology event.
