Michelin run flats on the 2014 Chevy Corvette stingray on Driving the Nation

John Church, Michelin’s product developer engineer, talked to Lou Ann Hammond, CEO, www.drivingthenation.com about the brand new run flat tires manufactured exclusively for the corvette stingray.

The 2014 Chevy Corvette stingray comes standard with run flat tires, but you wouldn’t know it by driving it. The run flat tires are the only ones that Michelin has made for a U.S. manufacturer. Church talks about the asymmetry of the tire structure. How did Michelin engineer the tire?

Are they made out of synthetic or real rubber?

The 2014 Chevy Corvette stingray is wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flat tires (245 front, 285 rear) and they allow the tires to hold the road better.

Why run flats?
