Lou Ann Hammond talks to MSNBC’s Alex Witt about how the EPA rates the range extender Chevy Volt and Nissan’s zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) LEAF. General Motors says that they used EPA’s process to calculate miles per gallon nets the Chevy Volt 230 mpg. Nissan says if they use the same process their ZEV LEAF will get 360 mpg. EPA says they haven’t approved either of those numbers.
