Ed Welburn once told me that his first car was a Corvair. A Chevy man through and through one of the last times I saw him he was talking about the Chevy Corvette he owned.
Welburn was always gracious with interviews, and always willing to tell us about himself; what he collected (martini shakers) and the artistic value of having a collection of one item to see the difference in design through the ages, and the ability to still distinguish that functional object as art over time. Welburn’s favorite period was the art deco period. His favorite shaker is the Zeppelin martini shaker.
