Roberto Rodrigues, Brazilian economist & farmer

I always ask each person I interview to say their name and title. so when I asked Roberto Rodrigues for his name and title I was more than a little surprised when he said farmer.

Roberto Rodrigues is the former minister of Agriculture of Brazil under President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and current coordinator of the Agribusiness Center at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

Mr. Rodrigues talks about the end of the era of oil. The empire of oil, the emperor, are words Rodrigues uses when he talks about oil.

Mr. Rodrigues talks to the World Trade Organization (WTO) about biomass and energy. He believes that Brazil’s problems with natural gas will be gone within 2-3 years.
