Sergio Marchionne – If there is a European union, act like one

At a lunch in September 2012, Fiat SpA Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne talked to a group of journalists about the disagreement between Volkswagen AG and Fiat. Lou Ann Hammond, www.drivingthenation.com, was one of those journalists.

The problems that Marchionne talks about in this video are being talked about at the 2012 Paris auto show. There is overcapacity in Europe, due to the weak economy. Marchionne thinks the auto industry ought to resolve these problems together, Volkswagen is willing to go it alone.
