Tien Duong, DOE, on Lithium-ion batteries

Tien Duong, Department of Energy, USA, opened the 1st International Conference on Advanced Lithium Batteries for Automobile Applications at the Argonne National Laboratory, September 15-17, 2008.

Duong was good enough to sit down at the event and talk with me about the challenges of a lithium-ion batteries in PHEV, EV and HEV cars in the 21st century. How will America bridge the gap between the Asians and Europeans when it comes to production of lithium-ion batteries?
