Tien Duong, DOE, on Lithium-ion batteries

Argonne National Laboratory

Tien Duong, Department of Energy, USA, opened the 1st International Conference on Advanced Lithium Batteries for Automobile Applications at the Argonne National Laboratory, September 15-17, 2008.

Duong was good enough to sit down at the event and talk with me about the challenges of lithium-ion batteries in PHEV, EV and HEV cars in the 21st century. How will America bridge the gap between the Asians and Europeans when it comes to the production of lithium-ion batteries?
