Tom Baloga, BMW of North America on Driving the Nation

Tom Baloga, Vice President, Engineering, BMW of North America talked to me about the alternative energy vehicles BMW is bringing out.

Baloga said that BMW has the lowest CO2 fleet performance of any premium automaker in Europe.

Baloga said that the new BMW X6 active hybrid will come out later this year with a lithium-ion battery.

Since the X6 is made in Spartanburg, SC the wheel to well emission will be less because the factory uses methane gas from a landfill for energy.  Methane provides 63% of the South Carolina plants energy needs.
